Volunteer with Amy!

September 9, 2019

The time I've spent with Union Gospel Mission has made a huge impression on me. Seeing the way they connect in real and truly impactful ways with the homeless population in the Portland area has taught me that this is a very complicated issue, but that UGM -- with their decades of experience -- is creating solutions that truly help people. From big things like comprehensive drug treatment to little things (like giving someone a hug when they need it), Union Gospel Mission is there for people during their toughest times. I'm proud to be associated with them.

I'm looking for some friends to join me on Saturday, September 28th from 10 am until noon at Operation Overcoat. Operation Overcoat is a great opportunity for homeless and low income neighbors to get essential clothing for winter, but it’s also fun. It is a neighborhood street fair, with great food, live music, and happy people. We consider the “fun” of Operation Overcoat as essential as the food and clothing we distribute. Life on the street can be cold, lonely and isolating. The daily stress to meet basic needs and to stay safe can be intolerable. At Operation Overcoat, we want to provide our neighbors in need a respite from the grind. We want to help and encourage people experiencing homelessness by “coaching to a pathway to success.”

Enter your name below to let me know you're interested in joining me! There are a limited number of spots available so by signing up, you're confirming that you would be available if we give you a call.
